We began our commitment to promoting financial wellness starting back in 1969 originally as the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of San Francisco (CCCSSF). Since then for more than 45 years, we've dedicated ourselves to providing money management education and assistance to local consumers. Since then, we've grown nationally through various partnerships with the financial services industry, government agencies, local charters, and corporations. Today, we are known as Balance and continue our commitment to educate, inform, and empower our clients to take control of their financial lives. Lastly, we are certified by HUD to provide comprehensive housing counseling services.

View documentAny consumer contacting Balance for counseling services will be provided service regardless of the language they speak. Whenever possible, a client will be paired with a counselor who speaks his or her language. If a client speaks a language other than those of our multilingual counseling staff, the AT&T Language Line will be contacted to schedule a translator for the time of the appointment. Balance will pay for the cost of the service.
